KCMG Formula 4: Team Italy's Antonelli sets the pace

16-year-old Team Italy racer Andrea Kimi Antonelli set the pace in both practice sessions today in the KCMG Formula 4 circuit discipline at Circuit Paul Ricard.

The young Italian from Bologna stopped the clocks in the first session two minutes, 8.127 seconds to lead Team Portugal's Manuel Espírito-Santo and Team Austria's Charlie Wurz - the 16-year-old son of ex-Formula 1 racer and Le Mans winner, Alex Wurz.

In the second session - the same three drivers filled the top three positions - this time Wurz setting the second-fastest time over Espírito-Santo.

Other prominent performances in the two 45-minute sessions included Team Panama's Mini (eighth fastest in session 1); Team Australia's C.Toparis (sixth in session 2), and Team Serbia racer F.Jenic (eighth in session 2).

A 25-minute qualifying session will go green tomorrow at 10:00 am, followed by the 20-minute qualifying race at 17:35.

Built by renowned international motorsport organisation, KCMG - the KC MG 01 Formula 4 chassis is uniquely equipped with a hybrid system.

Along with the gold medal for the overall winner at the FIA Motorsport Games – the winning racer will also take home a 10,000 euro prize provided by KCMG, which the winner can use to further advance their career.
